The traditional way of cutting metal in India has been with the use of Oxy-Acetylene mixture. Acetylene is an expensive resource and its supply is erratic. Through intensive research BPCL has developed a high-calorie metal cutting gaseous solution called Bharat Metal Cutting Gas (BMCG) as the ideal substitute for Acetylene. BMCG offers improved metal cutting performance at substantially lower cost. BMCG has been accredited by leading agencies like Welding Research Institute (WRI), Trichy; Research Designs and Standards Organization (RDSO), Lucknow; and Naval Materials Research Laboratory, Ambernath. BMCG is already the preferred choice of customers like SAIL, BHEL, BEML, Cochin & Hindustan Ship Yards, Metro Rail, Indian Railways, L&T, Godrej & Boyce, Singareni Collieries etc.
